The We Dream The Cure team is a group of friends and professionals wanting to make a difference in the world by using our creativity to raise money for a great cause. The team consists of numerous volunteers including Photographers (Karin Kohlberg, Sebastian Artz), Editors (Roberta Pacht, Carola Trenear), Art director (Marie Masciovecchio), Designers (Trudy Wilson, Guy Smith), Architect (Minako Tanaka), Event managers (Kai Konsorowski, Brenda Hutchings) who donate their time and talents to create these events.
The idea was to throw parties where we raise money for charity while having total fun. We realized that most benefits are not really accessible to a broad audience due to expensive tickets and very selective guest lists. We Dream The Cure wants to create events that are affordable and memorable for everyone.The first Naughty Auction was held in 2007, where we sold sexy items in a Manhattan apartment and donated all the money to the National AIDS Fund. The party was a great success and we quickly realized that we wanted to aim higher.
Last year celebrity photographer Karin Kohlberg provided her studio space for our second annual NaughtyAuction on June 27th, 2008. Companies such as Chopin Vodka, Q-Tonic, Vintage Plantations and Trojan Evolve were amongst our generous sponsors. With over 100 attendees and a packed house we raised close to $10,000 for NAF that night. We auctioned off naughty toys, sexy artwork, sensuous dinners, photography and dates with hot singles- all these items were provided by either our sponsors or donated by individuals directly. This year, continuing with our naughty theme, the event will take place over two floors with a 45 minute live auction downstairs, an all night silent auction upstairs and an after party to follow. We are expecting 500 guests and aiming to raise over $50.000 that night, which will be once again donated to the National Aids Fund. This will be all made possible by the inspiring efforts of We Dream The Cure team and the amazing support from our sponsors.
Along with Angie Pontani being the hostess, we will have music by Sibling Rivalry from London, an open bar and hors d'oeuvres for our guests and screens showing a mixture of funky graphic art work with the logos of all our sponsors integrated throughout the night.
